I love helping people and I love a challenge! My special interest lies in treatment and prevention of injury. Experience has taught me that by therapeutically listening to my patients, the craft of Massage Therapy profoundly aids in the relief of physical, emotional and spiritual tension and invites consciousness of the self. I have developed this holistic philosophy of treatment by combining the dual diversities of my professional training. There are many tools in my therapeutic toolbox that can be uniquely applied to your specific condition. With your expressed consent, it’s my pleasure to be in touch with other members of your self-care team to contribute to the big picture of your health journey. Together, we can form an alliance for your well-being!
I have enthusiastically been practicing as a Registered Massage Therapist in good standing with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario since 2000. Upon completion of my Massage Therapy diploma from Sutherland-Chan School and Teaching Clinic, I was inspired to immerse myself in both the rehabilitation and spa treatment settings as to better understand and experience the myriad approaches available for fostering healing. I am also a musician. I hold a Bachelor of Musical Arts in Performance from The University of Western Ontario and an Artist Diploma in Orchestral Training in French Horn from The Royal Conservatory of Music.
Lifelong learning is the cornerstone of my personal and professional vitality. My holistic treatment philosophy has evolved through a broad collection of post-graduate courses including: Neural Dynamics and Pain Management; Evidence based Medical Acupuncture; CranioSacral Therapy; Muscle Energy; Fascia Release using NISA; Injury Prevention and Intervention for Musicians and Performing Artists; Aromatherapy; Introduction to Qi-Gong; The Physiology of Modo Yoga Postures; Landmark Education; Compassion Fatigue Prevention; Cannabis Guidelines and Consideration for Manual Therapy Practice; RMT Business Seminar; Healing from the Core; The Bodywork Project; Dow Janes.
Giving back to the community that supports and inspires me is an integral part of my commitment to continued education. I am grateful for the opportunity to present workshops, courses and peer mentoring to a wide variety of groups and individuals in both the post-secondary and professional arenas.
When I’m not massaging clients or making music, I love to practice yoga, go camping and watch rugby with me Irish Lad and our kitty cat Rog!
